One Missed Call (2003) - JAPAN
One more good horror from the director of Audition and ichi the killer - Takashi Miike .
In One Missed Call , People mysteriously start receiving voicemail messages from their future selves, in the form of the sound of them reacting to their own violent deaths, along with the exact date and time of their future death, listed on the message log. The plot thickens as the surviving characters persue the answers to this mystery which could save their lives.
The story is not so kind a great , but the horror scenes were very good . It simply shows the brilliance of Takashi Miike . He is an excellent filmmaker . The picture gets suspense, horror, shocks, grisly terror and several eerie scenes. The film displays hair-rising and horrifying images with a bit of blood and graphical gore.Mysterious and sinister atmosphere is well made by the photographer Yamamamoto. The trademark "ringtone of death" from this film had become rather popular, and was actually used as a ringtone and background music for unofficial haunted houses .
There are other two sequels of this movie , but in my opinion they are useless , only first part is good . There is an american remake also which released this year , but it is also not as good as the original .

Besides all the negative response that this movie got I watched this movie. Though this movie is not so great but isn't bad at all. I do agree with you that sequels of this movies are useless but this one is good, or can say a one time watch.
